There is this pressure to be a size 0 in the fashion industry. Unfortunately this is a very real problem, and is something that most people are aware of. Fashion has always been considered a bit of a fantasy world and therefore the models almost look inhuman with their long limbs and skinny frame. Their lack of curves also work well for the runway when there is limited time to fit the models. Girls see this and then feel the pressure to look like these models. I personally believe that curvier girls look the best in my clothing, which is tailored to the female form. Women are blessed with being soft, curvy and feminine and it breaks my heart to see that there are so many girls that want to run away from that. I strongly urge women to be confident in their shape and embrace the curves, their shape and their weight. Uniqueness is beauty and I hope that my clothes help women embrace that and feel confident in their own shape.
I’ve noticed that many of the designers have used curvier (and even older) models in their Fall 2010 runway shows. I think this is a hopeful, sensitive, bold and intelligent move.
The woman in the picture You included within Your post looks seriously ill and malnourished. I hope she lives.
Much Love to You, Althea, for saying what needed to be said. I deeply appreciate Your voice and influence in the World of Fashion, and hope it continues to grow in luminosity.

In light of your concerns, will you continue to offer your line in Size O?

p.s. I agree with your assessment of your designs working best on a woman with some curves, and think a good example of that is the “Contour” design from your Assimilation section. The picture with the train does not show the design off to its best because the fitted top ended up concave on the model instead of convex. My two cents.
