A few months ago I attended the Art Ball at the Dayton Art Institute to auction off a dress designed by me, with the proceeds all going to the museum. As most of you know I love to support this museum because I took art classes there as a child.

A while back I was part of a panel discussion for up and coming designers and what it takes to stand out in this industry.
It was part of an event for Pakistani designers put on by Koka Consulting.

Tara, the most adorable girl, came with her mother to my trunk show at Sanity. She loved my dress so much that she got one too!!
She was a little small for a women’s small- so I gave her a little fitting:)
I made the alterations and sent it out to her today- can’t wait till she gets it in the mail!!

I recently visited Sanity Boutique in Chargin Falls, OH.
I had a great time showcasing my Fall 2010 collection and also getting rid of some samples for Spring 2010 and Sittella- got to make room for next season!
I thought the store was amazing and that the staff were great. I would definitely recommend this boutique to any fashionistas in the area. In fact I will be back in a few months as they will be carrying my Sittella line and I will aslo give a little showcase of Spring 2011:) Can’t wait!!
Also- I am being interviewed by FashionTV in the photo above:)

There is this pressure to be a size 0 in the fashion industry. Unfortunately this is a very real problem, and is something that most people are aware of. Fashion has always been considered a bit of a fantasy world and therefore the models almost look inhuman with their long limbs and skinny frame. Their lack of curves also work well for the runway when there is limited time to fit the models. Girls see this and then feel the pressure to look like these models. I personally believe that curvier girls look the best in my clothing, which is tailored to the female form. Women are blessed with being soft, curvy and feminine and it breaks my heart to see that there are so many girls that want to run away from that. I strongly urge women to be confident in their shape and embrace the curves, their shape and their weight. Uniqueness is beauty and I hope that my clothes help women embrace that and feel confident in their own shape.

I went to Columbus to do a trunk show at Jinny’s on High Street. It is a great store that carries a lot of great lines.
They provided four models for me to showcase my Fall 2010 collection.
They looked great in the clothes, it is always a gamble when people provide models so I was super excited when I saw them
and saw how great they were and hope amazing they looked in the clothes.

I had the BEST time at Paris J Boutique in Cincinnati!
I went to school in Cincinnati, so it was so great to be back in the area, I am always surprised by the amount of support I receive from Dayton/Cincinnati.
Also, I have to recommend the boutique to anyone in the area, they have a phenomenal staff and selection of clothing.
